Apollo von Ablar is a stunning 2 year old German Shepherd with the playful behavior associated with puppies. He looks very serious in his pictures – but he really isn’t. Our big, medium-energy hunk looks forward to his daily circuits around the neighborhood, which will elicit a choir of “oohs” and “aahs” from your neighbors and passers-by. Afterwards he will mellow out and be content to just chill by your side or listen in on your phone calls. Although Apollo is very intelligent, he is not a dog that requires being worked a great deal. This boy has a solid, well balanced temperament. He interacts well with his foster mom’s two dogs and with those they encounter on walks. Apollo shares his toys with others, is confident but not pushy, does not bully, and is friendly with all strangers he’s encountered, male or female. As smart as he looks, over the course of three days this fast learner was taught to sit, down, wait, leave it, and not rush through doorways. Big as he is, Apollo is sweet and cuddly and will soak up as much affection as you can give him. Athletic Apollo shares a trait with Spider Man: he is able to scale vertical surfaces; therefore, he requires a yard with at least 6 ½-foot-tall fencing and gates. Although perfect in every other way, he likes to jump out of the yard and will even do it if left unattended for just a couple minutes and even when other dogs are in the yard with him. Otherwise, he is a dream dog that will make your dreams come true.
